My weekly update

Sketch 211 - love this sketch coz I get to use some bigger stamps!

So apparently, I forgot to post my card for sketch 210 last week.

And I went to another card making meeting and I remembered my tape gun!

Looks like it's snowing again......sigh.......I've really had enough already!

February ODB Challenge, Sketch 210 and other stuff

Our Daily Bread for February - use brown - this also doubles as my masculine card for the card bowl.

The midweek throwdown was a call for cards for kids.  I went with Goofy.

Then I decided to combine the kid's card with the call for using brown.

OWH Sketch #209 and a midweek throwdown

This week, I combined the two challenges.  Midweek throwdown = use pastels and so I did a girly card using Sunday's sketch.  I also made one for the boys.

Thanks for checking in!

Challenges for the week and a stupid move

The mid-week throwdown at Operation Write Home was Easter cards.   I combined mine with this week's sketch, which I found to be quite a challenge.  All those circles.....oh my.....

After that brain teaser, I went with an easier form of an Easter card.  The bunny is on the inside of the card.  My photography leaves a lot to be desired..........

I spent a lot of time during the week preparing card kits for myself for a card making gathering of friends on Sunday.  I thought I had everything well prepared until I got to the meeting and found I had no glue gun..  I did manage to take 3 extra rolls of tape, but no gun....  What kind of idiot goes to a card making group and forgets her glue gun????...um.......this kind...... I did have 3 small tape rollers, so I made my card fronts and decided to glue them on the card stock when I got home.

Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized that those little hand held glue tape dispensers were crap - I could peel almost everything apart with no effort at all.  So, I'll be spending this evening with my trusty glue tape gun and re-doing them all........Thanks for listening to my rant!

The week in review

So far, my attempt at sticking to the challenges is going pretty well.  Posting them each day, not so well.
I had trouble with this Sunday's sketch.  I'm still not really happy with these two attempts.  I think I need a booster of mojo or something.

The midweek throwdown was for the chalkboard technique.  I'm a big fan of this, because it involves embossing and I love to emboss.

I also had a struggle with CAS.  I think I always will.  The embellishment at the sentiment was courtesy of a smudge.

I think Window Dressing is my very favorite SU set of stamps that I own.  I could make these cards until
I'm blue in the face.  I love coloring them and I love sticking different things in the window.  I love the brick embossing folder and putting smudges on the walls of the building.  I had to stop myself or I would have just filled the entire box of cards for Operation Write Home with these.

I hope everyone has a productive week!

Sketch #206

I just taped up a box of cards to mail off to Operation Write Home tomorrow and now I'm feeling intimidated by the empty box waiting for me to fill.......  Anyone else have that problem?

Our Daily Bread - January Challenge

I woke up with mojo!  Woo hoo!

I even had enough leftover to clean up the craft area.  Well, sort of.....  Um, it's a lot better than it was.....

Happy New Year (or Harlicher Nei Yahr for all my Pa. Dutch friends) !!

I started off 2013 with good intentions of doing all the challenges and made it halfway through the year before "life" took over.  I'm going to try it again, maybe I can get a little farther through the year this time.

The mid-week throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home is our choice of top mid-week challenges from last year.  I love, love, love making cards for kids.  These are going in my box that I'm preparing to mail right now.

Here's my top ten cards from last year.

Have a great and productive New Year!

Our Daily Bread December 2013 Challenge

I've been making cards like mad.  Too bad I'm too lazy to post them.
Here's one for the Our Daily Bread December challenge for postage money for Operation Write Home.
Masculine is what they called for.

And this is my take on the sketch for today.  I skipped the ribbon.

Hope things are good with all my friends in blogland.  We're getting some snow today, which makes it all the better for just staying in and playing with paper!
Thanks for looking in!   ~Nancy F.

Our Daily Bread Challenge - October, 2013

Yes, I've been so lazy that I haven't posted since last month.  It's only blog lazy, not card lazy.  The card production is still going strong!  The ODBD theme this month is Sentiments.

And here's a sampling of the cards for this month's box to Operation Write Home.  Some are for various challenges including the monthly boot camp card.  I've been doing most of the sketches, just not blogging.  I sit at the computer so much at work that when I come home, I barely want to look at it.....

Thanks for looking in!

Labor Day - Virtual Card Making Party for Operation Write Home

If you are a card maker and you need something to do this weekend, Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party.  Hop on over to Nancy's blog, where we start the challenges!  Nancy called for inchies!  Here are mine!  I think they'd pop more if I had layered them.

Diane's challenge was to use items starting with the letters OWH.  I used an ornament, winter papers and a happy holidays sentiment.

Seongsook's Creations are always very pretty.  This time it was a call for triple time, and instead of using stamps, you only use one piece of paper.  Great idea!

We're all celebrating Annette's 29th wedding anniversary with love cards.  I've used this stamp before.  It's one of my favorites.

Donna's challenge was to use masking tape.  This was so much fun and I love how my card turned out.
