Catching up on challenges

I had a great weekend with the blog hop, but never got all the challenges finished.  Today I took a few hours of mini vacation from work and got a few more cards done.  Jen asked for cards with a caffeine theme.
The Desert Rose Stamper challenged us to make cards with 3 layers of white.  This one was tough for me!
What a good challenge though.  I made a card that I like, and it's not like anything I normally do, so it was a great exercise in doing something new.

Over at 104cards.blogspot.com, the challenge was to go without glitter but still have some glitz.  I don't know if this fills the bill.  I might make another attempt at something better.

The next cards are my examples of focal points for Boot Camp.

This week's Midweek Throwdown was for a fancy fold card.  There are a lot of great ideas on the OWH website and I'm hoping to have enough time left today to go make some of the other examples.
That's it for now!  I'm off to make a couple cheeseburger and necktie cards!  Thanks for looking!  ~Nancy

  1. These are the coolest cards! I really like that image on the first, and I often feel as if I need a mega size cuppa joe like that to get going in the mornings too! LOL Beautiful white on white, wow! You saved the best for last! I love that fancy fold with all the hardware, and I LOVE that motorcycle image! You're just cranking them out my friend!!

  2. This is a nice group of cards Nancy! I'm particularly attracted to your fancy fold. Wow is that ever nice what with the fold, the rich green, the terrific motorcycle image and then those gear embellishments. Marvelous!

The simple CAS design with the image surrounded by the big white frame is a nice example of creating a strong, obvious focal point. This is also a good example of using white space as a design element, which is something we'll cover in a future Bootcamp. Thanks for joining in on the February Bootcamp!

  4. Way to stamp out some cards! The fancy fold card is great. I never even thought to turn a gate fold on its side like that! Wonderful job!

  5. I need that big cup of coffee! So funny. These are all terrific challenge cards, but I think my favorite is the white on white card. It's so elegant. The motorcycle is a favorite too. I'm glad you had a block of time to get crafty. I always love seeing what you've been doing!
