OWH Sketch Challenge #129

It feels good to get back in the groove with the weekly challenges.  I love how this card came out.  I plan to make several to use at the upcoming card making party for Operation Write Home in August.  And now, my blogger friends, I need some help with ideas for card kits for the party.  So far, I've come up with a few.  These are the easier ones.

I added a few more parts to these:
And then I thought I'd throw in some of these for people who like getting their fingers full of glue.
I need thoughts of how easy/hard to make the kits, how much "stuff" to have around for those who want to do their own thing and how do you figure out how many kits to have when you don't really have a firm head count?  Thanks for looking, and for reading this far....and for any suggestions you might have.  ~Nancy F.

  1. Super duper take on the sketch! I particularly love all the stars! I have never hosted a party, so I do not have any great suggestions. Best of luck!

  2. Oh my word, I absolutely LOVE your first card! It's rustic looking, yet simple. LOVE IT!!

Not sure what to tell you about the kits. That's a tough one to plan for. I am going to bring some of my own stuff to do. Just because I have a few ideas in my head and really need to get them on paper. :)

  3. I LOVE your Hero card, and after I made mine today, I thought how cool it would be to turn it into a hero card next! You're one step ahead of me :)
I may pre-cut panels for this sketch and bring them along since it's such an easy sketch to work with! Your kits look great so far!! Nice job!!

  5. LOVE (!!!) the hero card you did for the sketch and I'm so glad you asked that question because I know there are scrappers who live in my neighborhood and since we have a lodge with an art/craft room, I've been thinking it might be fun to have a party, but have no idea how to do one. So, hopefully you'll get a lot of great answers I can borrow.

  6. Your card is FAB!! Seriously rocks. As for kits, I think the more the better, and have blank notes for on hand for anyhero notes, which can fill time too. I think easier is better if you don't know if you will have experienced people.

  9. Your sketch card is awesome, I love the embossed stars n stripes! Thanks so much for joining us in this week's OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge!

Re: the kits. I think what you have looks great. I've done two OWH cardmaking parties now, and I am telling you that kits are the way to go! My groups is about 20 ladies, who are mostly scrapbookers, not cardmakers, but not newbies to papercrafting. Using kits they can get about 275 cards done in about 6 hours, and they aren't rushing and we take a nice lunch break in there. My only other advice is to have more adhesive than you think you'll need, that stuff goes fast. Hope that helps! Good luck!
