My top five favorite cards for the year......hmmmm.....

I always try to throw in something slightly inappropriate with each box I send to OWH, just for so.
I'm sure they're tired of me by now.   :-0

Snoopy Love

More cards for Operation Write Home.  This time, I'm skipping Valentine's Day, and just making love cards, which is what they are suggesting.  This way, the cards can be used all year long, instead of just for one day.

Neglectful

I've been neglecting the blog, but not the cards.  This is one of my very favorite stamps, even though it's just got a foam backing and it's really, really old.
I went thrift store shopping with a good friend and found this Stampin' Up set for $2.99.
These are from the same set.  They're great fun to play with and I'm enjoying getting back to the stamping basics.  And getting ink all over my fingers.  And the table.  And my clothes.
Using up some cute owl papers....
I always try to throw some manly man cards into the mix.
This stamp is from Just For Fun.  They're slightly smaller than A2, which OWH requires, but I always send
along a couple of extra sheets of paper in each envelope, so I hope they will still meet the requirements.

An end note.  The dog has been very bad.  I nominated him to the Dog Hall Of Shame..
For twelve years, he never paid it any attention.  Now, suddenly, it's a smorgasbord.

Where did September go????

Sketch #240 -  I love this little gnome.  I stamped him and masked him and stamped the birch trees on top.
The background is just white paper with ink brushed over top.
Pigs!  Who doesn't love pigs!  I'm getting used to limiting my cards to five of a kind now.  OWH is only accepting multiples of five with the draw down of troops and a less need for cards.

I learned a little lesson about not putting my initials on the backs of my cards and have finally started to be
diligent about it.

Thank goodness there are plenty of Seinfeld reruns, or else a lot of the troops out there would be too young to even know what Yada, yada, yada was all about......

Finally getting back to the all time consuming activity of real stamping.  I love getting all inky.  I'm also using these as part of the September Challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs - make your own background.

Thanks for checking in!

Missing Mojo

I briefly lost my mojo, but I think I just found it.
Here's sketch 237 - I've been trying to use up this birdhouse paper for about a year.  Note to self, buy the really small paper tablets..........

And another old sketch from another week that I missed......  I hope this isn't getting to be a habit.
I also sent these off in my latest box to Operation Write Home:

And surprise!  Joanne made some cards too!  Here they are:
I'm going to try to hang on to the edge of my mojo so it doesn't get away again.....  Wish me luck.

Hello!

Sketch #233
Sketch #234 - I had trouble with this one.  Wish I had a tweety sentiment for it.....
I totally cased these from a magazine but it was a good excuse to use the new hexagon dies.....
And a moose you sentiment would have been better for these.  They started out as this week's sketch cards, but I noticed I forgot the banner....  It seemed like too many layers.

Super Virtual Card Making Party This Weekend!

Operation Write Home held a really super virtual card making party this weekend!  I'm still not done with all the challenges, but I like to think I'm over half way through.
MidWeek Throwdown was to use a flag on your card.
For the His & Hers challenge, I used Sketch #205.  I'm also including the truck card in the masculine with a vintage image card.  That helps me feel like I'm further along.......or is it farther?
Here's my thank you card, also covering Our Daily Bread challenge of "things with wings" and a thick
Any Hero card.  I guess it could also cover the travel challenge, although I had some other stamp in my mind for that one.  There's time....
Red, white & blue birthday -
Colorful background - I used up some scraps -
And paper piecing with a miss you for kids - looks like I forgot to put the "miss you" on these....
Winter image using red, white and blue -
This doubles as more flag cards and the thin any hero which can also be used to write home.
And finishing up with Sketch #232.  I think this will end up being one of my favorite cards for 2014.
My glossy accents isn't quite dry on the dots.....

End of June......already.........

Where did June go?  I'm still on a blog roll.  I managed to squeek out the MidWeek Throwdown for missing you cards for kids, the sketch card for today and I just got the Mama Elephant stamp set and dies that are benefiting Operation Write Home this month.  They're quite fun to play with, but I'm still trying to get a handle on using the dies.  Yes, I've tried templates with post its.  It's a work in progress.....
