Our Daily Bread December 2013 Challenge

I've been making cards like mad.  Too bad I'm too lazy to post them.
Here's one for the Our Daily Bread December challenge for postage money for Operation Write Home.
Masculine is what they called for.

And this is my take on the sketch for today.  I skipped the ribbon.

Hope things are good with all my friends in blogland.  We're getting some snow today, which makes it all the better for just staying in and playing with paper!
Thanks for looking in!   ~Nancy F.

Our Daily Bread Challenge - October, 2013

Yes, I've been so lazy that I haven't posted since last month.  It's only blog lazy, not card lazy.  The card production is still going strong!  The ODBD theme this month is Sentiments.

And here's a sampling of the cards for this month's box to Operation Write Home.  Some are for various challenges including the monthly boot camp card.  I've been doing most of the sketches, just not blogging.  I sit at the computer so much at work that when I come home, I barely want to look at it.....

Thanks for looking in!

Labor Day - Virtual Card Making Party for Operation Write Home

If you are a card maker and you need something to do this weekend, Operation Write Home is hosting a Virtual Card Making Party.  Hop on over to Nancy's blog, where we start the challenges!  Nancy called for inchies!  Here are mine!  I think they'd pop more if I had layered them.

Diane's challenge was to use items starting with the letters OWH.  I used an ornament, winter papers and a happy holidays sentiment.

Seongsook's Creations are always very pretty.  This time it was a call for triple time, and instead of using stamps, you only use one piece of paper.  Great idea!

We're all celebrating Annette's 29th wedding anniversary with love cards.  I've used this stamp before.  It's one of my favorites.

Donna's challenge was to use masking tape.  This was so much fun and I love how my card turned out.

An overdue post

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth - yet!
I've been working on manly cards.  No sentiments.  Hopefully guys will actually want to use these.

And I made some girly ones too.  Some of these are from past sketches where I made the cards, but never got around to posting.  Better late than never.
The flower cards were fun.  I stamped the flowers with versamark on white paper, then embosssed with white powder.  After the heat cooled down, I rubbed over the flowers with pigment stamp pads.  Then I stamped with coordinating colors on white and cut into three strips and mounted them on foam tape with an added ribbon.
And today's sketch:

Lazy

Card production for Operation Write Home is still going strong!  We're just too lazy to blog!

Our Daily Bread July Challenge for postage money for OWH

Stitching, ugh!  I saw that challenge and thought I wasn't going to get anywhere with it.  The more I sat around, the more guilty I felt because this is for such a great cause.  For some reason, I decided that stitching and Raggedy Anne would go together.  So, this is my effort.  I hope it works.

I've also been trying to get back to my first love, which is stamping.  I used markers this time and no fancy die cuts!

Midweek Throwdown OWH

I normally stink at CAS, but I pulled out some stamps that were given to me by Kim, and she's really great at it and I was hoping it would rub off on me.  This is my attempt at CAS with texture.

Sketch 178 and my regular catching up

Sketch 178 -
Love this sketch!

Midweek Throw Down - Cards for kids - my favorite to make:

And a window card from Tuesday's tutorial.  I used my trusty, old Coluzzle on this one.  It's a two piece:

Thanks for looking!

Sketch 177, MidWeek Throwdown, Boot Camp and Joanne made some cards too!

Sketch 177 - I went girlie on this one, coz I rarely ever do.

Mid Week Throwdown - things with wings.  Gargoyles have wings.

Bootcamp - principle of repetition. - circles on the paper, sentiment is a circle, and tiny bubbles.

Joanne managed to haul her stuff over to my house and she whipped up these:

And I made these.  I think my box is finally full and I can mail to Kris.

A watered down Sketch 176

Sketch 176 got combined with the midweek throwdown for cards with water this week.  I made 4 cards using the sailboat stamp, all with various sketches.  Some came from my head because I was in the mode to use the entire sheet of paper that I had started with.  Sometimes my best cards seem to be the ones where I just use scraps.

And here's another water card.  I deemed this one inappropriate.  I seem to do that a lot.
Since six out of six so far have said they like the fish in the jar, I'm going to make another four and send them to Kris and hope that they are usable.  Thanks for liking my quirkiness!

It's June already!

How did it get to be June?  Things are whizzing by me this year.  I used to be able to make at least a card or two a day and now it seems like each weekend is a constant frenzy to get all the challenges done and get a post up.

Memorial Day, 2013

I'm late again, as usual, with my posting.  I spent most of the weekend making cards for Operation Write Home.
Sketch 174

The midweek throwdown:

And the cards I was inspired to make from the blog hop:

There are more hop cards to come.  I barely got started, there were so many good ideas that I kept getting
sidetracked.
