Midweek Throwdown and some more Boot Camp

I'm a little late on all of the above.  The Midweek Throwdown was for an Easter card.  I got this stamp from the Outlines booth at the last rubber stamp show in April, 2012.  I've heard they closed up shop.  :-(

I've been continuing my Boot Camp work and came up with this for analogous.  I guess it could also count for colors based on nature.  I got the stamp at a yard sale.  I have a lot of large stamps that just fill up the whole front of the card and I've become so used to having a lot of "stuff"- mixed patterns of card stock and ribbons and brads etc., that just having one big scene on the card front seems plain.  How sad is that?

For my last trick, I used purple and green as my complimentary colors, and a SU stamp set, from Kim.

  1. All three of these are great cards, Nancy! And yes it's sad that Outlines is not longer is business. You must have been at the same stamp show we went to in April. Are you going again this April? We plan on going. Your second card is so pretty, I know what you mean that it's hard to just let the scene (which is so beautiful, just speak for itself, but it does. It's perfect just the way it is...

  3. Great cards Nancy - I just love that bunny card with all those pretty matching flowers! The scene looks beautiful and leaving it plain captures the serenity of the whole idea. And I love purple & green together - it's my favorite color combo, so the last card works for me too :)

  4. All 3 are beautiful but the scene is the one that stands out to me. You did a fantastic job with that one!

  5. I can totally relate to what you're saying about one big stamp that little room for anything else but like yours, they often make really great masculine designs. Your coloring is beautiful and though it is great just as is, if you felt you really wanted to add something you might be able to add a sentiment in a long, flag/bar shape across the lower left corner without interfering with the image too much.
