OWH Design Boot Camp and some other fun stuff

I snuck a peak at Design Boot Camp and work on Monday and couldn't wait to get home and play in the stamping room.  I had all sorts of ideas in my head, pulled out stamps and stamp pads and cut cardstock.
EVERY STINKING CARD that I started to make got black ink smudges on it.  In fact, EVERYTHING I TOUCHED had black ink on it.  I threw in the towel and made this card with scissors and a fancy piece of paper.   It's my ode to monochromatic.  It's also CAS, which is something I've been trying to work on for some time.  There will be  more odes to the other color schemes once I find where all the black ink is coming from!

Today I was too excited about chalk board art to worry about the rest of boot camp.  Tomorrow is the midweek throwdown, so it looks like I'll have an appointment with analogous on Thursday and complimentary colors on Friday.  Maybe I'll even throw in nature inspired then too.
But today - chalkboard art was awesome!!!!  You can get smudges all over the place, and IT DOESN'T
MATTER!   I made mine look like an old time hand held chalkboard that someone just did some doodling on.  I cut out the brown paper with my old Coluzzle template and then embossed it with the woodgrain folder.  I didn't have a lot of time this evening, so I'm really anxious for the weekend to come so I can play around with this some more.

  1. Nicely done on both of these!!! I was just thinking that those little kid quote stamps would be a lot of fun to do chalkboard cards with. I love your monochrome too... How pretty! Don't let those smudges get you down! They happen to all of us! Thanks for joining us at OWH! :)

  2. Nice job on the Monochromatic design! The choice of blues combined with the nice CAS design makes it a particularly nice one for the guys. The chalkboard technique looks like so much fun I can't wait to try it. The embossed frame is so clever!

  3. I LOVE your monochromatic card with those blue chevrons!! It's a great example of CAS and it's awesome! I love the chalkboard theme too, and you chose the perfect sentiment for it! Now you've inspired me to drag my coluzzle from the cobwebs and play with it! I've always loved that fun little tool!

  4. I really like the chevron card too! and a neat card with the chalkboard technique. Haven't tried that one yet, but since I have a tendency to get ink smudges on my card too...smile. maybe it's one I should try...Hope you are having a good week.

  5. Making your card with the brown border does look like an actual chalkboard! I love the chevron border as well. Nice job.

  8. How cool that you did the blackboard technique! As for the black ink, I usually drag it around on the fatty part of my hand, right under my little fingers. Noone looks there! I am poor at the CAS style, and need more work on it. Love your chevron.
